BFC Software Acquires Syntelic Solutions Corporation To Expand Food Operations Capabilities Beyond The Warehouse

Published By

The acquisition continues BFC’s strategy to build the most comprehensive operations platform for food distributors in the industry.

BOSTON, MA  (March 6, 2025)– BFC Software, Inc. the leading provider of operations management software for food distribution, is pleased to announce its recent acquisition of Syntelic Solutions Corporation, a leading provider of transportation routing, load planning, dispatch planning, and analytics software.

Will Collins, Chief Executive Officer for BFC Software, said, “There are three key areas of optimization for our customers: inventory, warehouse, and truck. To be successful and compete long term, food distributors need to have command in these key areas. The acquisition of Syntelic will enable our customers to measure and optimize the truck like we do the warehouse.  Adding this capability is critical on our mission to help food distributors reach peak efficiency and profitability.”

Syntelic Solutions Corporation was founded in 1996 by Matt Bent.  Previously, Matt spent 10 years as the VP of Technology at Manugistics prior to its acquisition by JDA Software (now Blue Yonder). Over the past two decades, Syntelic has built a robust platform that includes transportation routing, load planning, dispatch planning, and analytics.  The company’s solutions marry information from electronic logging devices and route planning software to provide clear visibility to operators.  Actual vs plan, cost per stop, out of route miles, vehicle utilization are all delivered out of the box.  Customers can use these insights to optimize on-time deliveries and manage ongoing costs.

“We are very excited to join the BFC team,” said Scott Balthaser, President and CEO of Syntelic Solutions Corporation. “We have deep history in food distribution, complementary products, successful mutual customers, and we fundamentally believe our products work better together.  Combining our Load Planning and Truck Building capabilities and our broader portfolios will yield a unique and powerful outbound suite for food distributors.”

While BFC got its start in the warehouse over 30 years ago, its product portfolio now covers demand forecasting, warehouse management, and transportation operations, a comprehensive, end-to-end operations platform purpose built for food distributors.
